5 Social Media Mistakes Business Owner Needs To Avoid — #2 You Think Everyone is your Customer

Let’s take about the 2nd of the 5 social media marketing mistakes business owners tend to make that they must avoid if they want to grow their sales using social media.

If you saw the video about the 1st mistake, it was all about using video in your marketing. Today, we’ll talk about the social media advertising that you use.

Whenever folks will make a post and they see that big blue “Boost” button, they want to click it then run an ad to everybody within 10 miles of where they are because they think everybody needs it.

Well, that’s not the case!

Don’t just boost it to everyone but start to dial in your audience.

What I want you to do is to create your ads account, go into your ads manager, and create target audiences. But before you can do that, you’ve really got to think about who your target customer is.

If your target customer or your best customer is somebody that’s 55 and older, you don’t want to show the ad to a 25-year-old female.

You want to make those adjustments in creating an audience. Think about the interests that they have. Who they are demographically, geographically, and the likes.

Upload Your List = Repeat Sales

If you have a list of other buyers or customers from your business, upload that list so that you can target them to get repeat sales. AND… you can target people who are similar to your list.

Everything is a test!

Here’s the other thing about running ads — everything’s a test!

You need to test your image or video.
You need to test the text.
You need to test the placement.
You need to test everything.

One thing isn’t gonna kill it for you. You’ve got to try it all. You’ve got to test it all to know what’s working and what’s not. Then scrap the stuff that’s not, use the stuff that’s working, and then dial that in.
